St Paul’s Rugby and the Meeting of 21 Club to form Rugby Football

On the historic date of 26th January 1871. 32 representatives from twenty-one London and suburban football clubs. Including St. Paul’s FC, congregated at the Pall Mall Restaurant in Regent Street. Unanimously, they agreed upon the necessity of forming a Rugby Football Society. Furthermore, laying the foundation for the illustrious Rugby Football Union. Moreover, the appointment of a president, secretary, treasurer, and a thirteen-member committee ensued, tasked with formulating the game’s laws based on the code practiced at Rugby School.
St Paul’s FC fixtures against Oxford and Cambridge Universities
