Saracens Rugby Union Season 98 – 1999

In 1998 – 1999 the Allied Dunbar Premiership League structure didn’t include the playoffs, unlike today. Instead, the team that finished top of the League, were crowned champions. Saracens finished in third position. Behind Northampton in second place. And the winners Leicester Tigers in the top spot. They won 16 of their 26 games. Finishing with 33 points. South African Gavin Johnson was the club’s top points scorer with 318. Kiwi Brendon Daniel was Saracen’s top try scorer with 12.

Throughout the season, the Saracens showcased their prowess. At times dominating the Allied Dunbar Premiership with their attacking prowess and tenacious defense. Led by a talented roster of players, including stalwarts like Richard Hill, Francois Pienaar, and Kyran Bracken. The team exuded a cohesive spirit that left opponents struggling to keep up. The Saracens’ exceptional forward pack consistently delivered strong performances. Winning crucial battles at the breakdown and providing a solid foundation for their explosive backline.
