Brian Bevan played most of his career in Britain, but was never selected to represent his native Australia in a Test Match – although he did mesmerise Kangaroo touring teams with his guile and skill for almost two decades.

In all he scored 796 tries in his career in Britain – a world record by a rugby player of either code. He scored 740 for Warrington and played in the club’s 19-0 victory over Widnes in the 1950 Challenge Cup Final.

Finally, he became a Warrington Wolves Hall of Fame inductee.

About Rugby League

Warrington Wolves had idolised Brian Bevan in BBC Sports Record breaker. Brian became the only player to be inducted into the Australian Rugby League Hall of Fame. Brian also inducted into British Rugby League’s Hall of Fame.
